Abstract

8-HQTF-II terpolymeric resin was synthesized by condensation of 8-hydroxy quinoline (8-HQ), thiourea and formaldehyde in 1:2:3 mole ratio in the presence of HCl as a catalyst. A synthesized material was authenticated by elemental analysis, FTIR, XRD and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Cd(II) removal were studied by using 8-HQTF-II via Batch equilibrium method, while Langmuir adsorption isothermand Freundlich adsorption isotherm model were employed for detail adsorption study. The removal efficiency of Cd(II) was found to be increase with adsorbent doses from 1 to 6 gm and at 6 gm maximum efficacy was found. The result shows the maximum removal of Cd(II) can be done nearly 95%.
