PREDICTING EDGE BEARING STRENGTH IN POLYMER BASED THICK CONCRETE CYLINDERS

Abstract

Thick walled concrete cylinders are widely used as sewer and water drains. Primary test conducted for those cylinders were three edge load bearing test. Concrete cylinders satisfying the test will be adapted for the field. Predicting the strength values of thick cylinders based on the necessary elements is a useful approach in determining its strength without destruction. Primary elements such as density, diameter, length and water bearing factor are considered. Productions of such mineral based concrete cylinder resist heavy loads than that of conventional concrete. Reversibility is a water-bearing factor in geopolymer concrete which needs to be considered during load analysis. Polypropylene fibres are introduced into the concrete at different fractions to analyse the water-bearing factors. Profound investigations have made on the simulation technique. Experimental results conveyed that 0.8% of PPF infusion produced the optimum results.
